Where to spectate, what to do after the finish line.
The most convenient zone for athletes who want to walk to swim start, transition, expo and finish. It is lively, high-demand and the classic Kona race-week base.
Condo and resort-style lodging south of the pier offers a calmer stay while still keeping central Kona reachable on foot, by bike or short drive depending on exact property.
A resort area farther south with more space and often better value than the downtown core, but race-morning access is less seamless and usually needs a drive or longer shuttle/taxi transfer.
Useful mainly for later-booking travelers, car-dependent stays or points-hotel strategies. It is practical for airport access but weak for race atmosphere and walkability.
