Travel & arrival
Land, build your bike, settle in. Aim to be on destination time before race morning.
Athlete check-in opens
Collect race packet, timing chip, swim cap. Bring photo ID and signed waiver.
Bike & gear check-in
Mandatory bike rack-in and gear bag drop, typically early afternoon. Miss this and you can't race.
Race day
Transition opens ~04:00. Pro start ~06:25, age-groupers shortly after. Cut-off 17 hours.
Bike collection & home
Collect your bike and gear bags before the morning cut-off. Then travel or extend the trip.
Miss any of these and you can't race. Verify exact times with the race website once published.
As a world championship, check-in windows, ID requirements, and bike/gear bag procedures are likely to be stricter and busier than at a regular 70.3. Bring all mandatory race documents, label gear clearly, and expect assigned collection times for bike check-in and post-race retrieval. Water temperature in southern Spain in November can vary, so wetsuit legality should be checked in the final athlete briefing.

Where to spectate, what to do after the finish line.
The most convenient option for athletes who want to walk to race-week functions, transition access, and likely start/finish areas. Busy, high-demand, and usually the first zone to sell out for major events.
Strong atmosphere with restaurants and plazas, still close enough for many athletes and supporters to walk to the race hub. Better for trip feel than absolute doorstep convenience.
Upscale resort base west of central Marbella with plentiful accommodation and dining, but typically requires taxi, rental car, or event shuttle planning to reach the race hub.
Often a better-value base with easier parking and larger properties, but less convenient for race-morning access if the course and closures concentrate in central Marbella.
