The most practical all-round base near Penrith Station, supermarkets and restaurants, with substantially less race-morning exposure than staying in central Sydney. The Sydney International Regatta Centre is not a normal walk-up city venue, so verify official access gates, parking or drop-off instructions and any event transport in the final athlete guide.
A leisure-oriented Penrith base around the Panthers precinct and Nepean River, offering restaurants, family facilities and motel-style accommodation. It may suit driving households, but verify the designated race-day approach, parking controls and closure impacts because normal road access cannot be assumed.
A genuine city-centre alternative with a larger upscale hotel market, riverfront dining and better options for non-racing companions. It is a high-friction race base well east of Penrith; verify the 2027 start time, motorway and local closure plan, and secure a reliable private transfer rather than relying on ordinary Sunday rail connections.
